Sustainability for us means accepting our responsibility to provide a positive contribution to our employees, the market, the environment and the community. It is our duty to remain a healthy business that creates added value in the economic, social, ecological and community areas.
In this context, our organisation’s strongly decentralised character plays a leading role. Our operating companies work rather independently and differ considerably in respect to typology and market proposition. Where one operating company can take huge strides in reducing CO2 emissions with its own innovations, another company can actually make a big difference with a sophisticated approach to waste management. We want to do justice to these differences in our policy.
A CR policy has been developed centrally, which is elaborated at local level. Based on the group policy, operating companies can develop and elaborate their own sustainability policies. CR project groups are set up at numerous operating companies. They translate the group policy into their own situation and develop their policies within the set frameworks.
