Amersfoort, the Netherlands, 27 February 2019, VolkerWessels’ subsidiary in Canada, Volker Stevin Highways, is awarded with three seven year contracts for highway maintenance in Alberta (Canada). The contracts each have three-year extension options based on meeting performance standards. The total value of the seven year contracts is over C$ 300 million and will exceed C$450 million with the contract extensions.
Three contracts
The three awarded contracts concern highway maintenance work for Alberta Transportation in west-central Alberta, southwest Alberta and southern Alberta (CMA 514, 520 and 521). Volker Stevin Highways was already performing highway maintenance in part of the awarded areas. As a result of the awarded contracts, the existing maintenance volume in the areas will increase around 30%. Volker Stevin Highways will commence with the work for the awarded contracts on 1 August 2019.
