Kilometres of smooth asphalt under your wheels, or that roundabout or dike you cycle over every day: everyone in the Netherlands uses the roads that are built and maintained by VolkerWessels. Motorways, cycle paths, business parks, surfacing, paving, noise barriers, excavation work and sewage systems: our colleagues have all the necessary experience and expertise in the many different disciplines in the sector.
From national to local
Infrastructure projects and contracts are becoming increasingly complex, requiring expert, specialist knowledge. VolkerWessels covers the entire road construction chain: from production in our own asphalt plants, design, engineering, and construction to road management and maintenance. As well as executing national projects thanks to our decentralised organisation we are also a strong regional player with projects ranging from provincial and local roads to neighbourhood streets and the pavements outside people’s homes.
Integrated and innovative
Large multidisciplinary projects require an integrated approach which is why our road construction and other infrastructure companies pool their forces in VolkerInfra. Our operating companies are constantly finding innovative and sustainable ways to help tackle challenges in society. A great example of this is PlasticRoad, a pioneering concept that could drastically change the future of infrastructure.
