A number of VolkerWessels companies (including VolkerWessels Vastgoed, ZorgID, Aveco de Bondt, IBB Kondor and VolkerWessels Bouw en Vastgoedontwikkeling West) once again had an active presence at PROVADA. PROVADA is a three-day networking event with various gatherings in forums, theme-based squares, conference halls and, of course, at the stands. PROVADA is the biggest real estate exhibition in the Netherlands, with this year’s edition taking place from 4 to 6 June.
Development Pasgeld site in Rijswijk
On 5 June the municipality of Rijswijk signed a letter of intent for the development of the Pasgeld site in Rijswijk in partnership with AM, Synchroon, VolkerWessels Vastgoed and Dura Vermeer. By signing the letter of intent the parties made process agreements with regard to the drafting of a business plan for the Pasgeld area.
Development NUON site in Alphen aan den Rijn
On 5 June contractor IBB Kondor signed the contract of implementation for the development of the NUON site in Alphen aan den Rijn. Work will start in September 2019 to construct 56 sheltered homes, 63 rental apartments and around 1,200 square metres of business service space on Prins Bernardlaan.
Shared business and office facilities
On 6 June Ralf Dressel of Bébouw Midreth and Roland Noom of Noom & Zoon/3xR Vastgoedbeheer signed the agreement for the construction of shared business and office facilities at Pieter Braaijweg in Amsterdam.
Networking with young real estate professionals
On Tuesday VolkerWessels Vastgoed organised a networking drinks event at its stand for members of JO-NL, the association of young real estate professionals in the Netherlands, and on Wednesday VolkerWessels organised the VolkerWessels Networking Drinks for existing and new business relations in the sector. Both networking gatherings were very well attended.

Room for Sustainable Mobility - VolkerWessels Bouwmaterieel director Ron Frazer explained the benefits of a BouwHub during a session entitled ‘room for sustainable mobility’. The BouwHub is a hub for monitoring and coordinating the entire logistical process in the construction chain, from supplier to building site. On 1 January 2019 the first circular building hub in the Netherlands was launched in collaboration with Beelen Groep. The BouwHub combines aspects such as circularity, social return, electric transport, transport by water, parking and route optimisation based on data in order to contribute towards a better quality of life in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Region.
